Methuen Opens Preregistration for New Composting Program

METHUEN — Methuen has opened preregistration for a new curbside composting program with Black Earth Compost, giving residents an easy way to reduce household waste while helping protect the environment.

Separately, vote-by-mail applications for the 2026 State Primary and State Election are now arriving in Methuen mailboxes, the city said. Eligible voters can request a ballot for one or both elections using the enclosed postage-paid application — an update to the mail-voting rollout the city has been publicizing this week, alongside plans for in-person early voting at Sanborn Hall beginning Aug. 22.

COMING UP The Methuen City Council holds its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 3. The Circle of Hope Family Support Group also meets that day, and the Jr. Celtics Academy summer camp runs Aug. 3-7 at Phillips Academy in Andover. Later in the week, the Conservation Commission and the Commission on Disability both meet Thursday, Aug. 6.
