Methuen Voters Face 5 P.M. Deadline for Mail Ballots

DATELINE — METHUEN — Registered Methuen voters have until 5 p.m. today to apply for a mail ballot in the 2026 State Primary, even as early in-person voting continues at Sanborn Hall through Friday.

TOWN HALL The city's early voting period for the State Primary opened Aug. 22 and runs through Aug. 28 at Sanborn Hall, according to the city's website. Voters who prefer a mailed ballot rather than voting in person must submit their application by 5 p.m. today, Aug. 25; ballots have been arriving in mailboxes for both the primary and the fall state election.

Separately, Acting Police Chief Jamie Moore formally took command of the Methuen Police Department on Monday, Aug. 24, when Chief Scott J. McNamara's retirement took effect, an update to the city's earlier announcement of Mayor D.J. Beauregard's appointment.
