Methuen Locks In Electric Rate Savings Through 2027
Methuen's negotiated municipal electricity supply rate will stay locked in place through December 2027 even as National Grid raises its own Basic Service rate again, the city announced this week, shielding residents from the latest utility increase.
TOWN HALL
City officials said Methuen's community electricity aggregation program continues to hold its supply rate steady through the end of 2027, meaning residents enrolled in the program will not see the impact of National Grid's newest Basic Service rate hike on their bills. The city cast the locked-in rate as a direct financial benefit for households at a time when regional utility costs keep climbing.
The Community Development Board is scheduled to meet Wednesday, August 12, while a previously scheduled Licensing Board meeting that day has been canceled, according to the city calendar.
