City Council · Meeting of February 2, 2026
Methuen City Council approves FY 2025 Community Development Block Grant for housing and youth services. The Council unanimously added an Economic Development Coordinator at roughly 80,000 dollars and a Sanitation/Zero Waste Coordinator to the Department of Public Works, with the latter's cost potentially offset by a recycling grant. The Council also passed a revised winter parking ban ordinance with provisions for small-business customer parking, adopted a $2,000 donation from Digital Federal Credit Union to the police department, and authorized comprehensive audits of city-owned parks and non-school buildings.
As of February 2, the snow and ice account has exceeded its annual budget by just over $1 million.
