Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 6, 2026

Methuen Conservation Commission closes North Street wetland hearing. The Commission voted unanimously to close a Notice of Intent hearing for 109 North Street and issue an Order of Conditions protecting a 50-foot wetland buffer zone with restrictions on mowing beyond the boundary line and prohibition of pesticides and herbicides in sensitive areas. The decision followed a revised site plan by Andover Consultants Inc. that repositioned the house and eliminated pavers from the no-disturb zone; peer reviewer Maria Johnsenberg of Tighe & Bond confirmed the design addressed prior concerns.

The Commission also continued two other Notices of Intent for additional review time, issued two Certificates of Compliance and two Emergency Certificates, and continued multiple enforcement orders and violations for ongoing compliance monitoring.
