Commission on Disability approves $6,200 ADA website grant.

Commission on Disability · Meeting of April 2, 2026

Methuen Commission on Disability unanimously approves $6,200 grant for website accessibility. Louis Santiago, head of IT and web development, secured the funding for the Civic Plus program to add accessibility tools to the city website, with costs allocated over four years. The commission also heard a proposal to refresh the Methuen Rail Trail through the police station to improve mobility access and save travel time.

Members noted the city currently has no fully accessible playgrounds and discussed the need to establish project costs before pursuing grants. The commission is organizing a Disability Pride Event for July 25 and will participate in an autism awareness flag raising at City Hall on April 6 at noon.
