Commission approves transmission line utility project, multiple site reviews pending completion.

Methuen Conservation Commission approves peer review for transmission line project, continues four development hearings. Chair Dave Di Zazzo presided as the commission unanimously authorized Lucas Environmental to review the 397 Transmission Line Asset Condition Refurbishment Project, a 7.5-mile utility upgrade extending from Tewksbury to Amesbury scheduled to begin in March 2027. The commission also unanimously approved an amendment to the Order of Conditions for 9 River Street to accommodate an ADA parking space, and authorized Tighe & Bond to conduct environmental review of a proposed residence at 109 North Street.
Four permit hearings were continued pending peer review completion or further monitoring of compliance sites. The commission ratified an emergency certification for Harris Brook dam repair work and discussed recently adopted tree removal policy language, agreeing that clarifications could be made over time.
