Board of Assessors approves fiscal 2025 and 2026 excise tax commitments.

Methuen Board of Assessors unanimously approves $6.4 million fiscal 2026 excise tax commitment. The board, with members Thomas J. Hoye and Susan Davila present, also accepted fiscal 2025 commitment #7 totaling $42,073.19 and approved February 2026 monthly excise tax abatements.
City Assessor Suzanne Doherty reported on a Chapter 61A applicant denied agricultural-preservation status but granted building abatement, and discussed potential development of an apartment building on Cross Street and a hotel on Pleasant Valley Street.
